This program is designed to combat the pregnancy amongst teenagers in the Houston and the surrounding areas.  Our Outreach Volunteers visit local middle and high schools throughout the year talking to male and female teenagers about sex education with an abstinence- plus message.

We also host forums outside of school that allow teens to openl
y express pressures that they are faced with on a daily basis without teachers and staff around.  Most teenagers are dealing with issues that require extreme confidentiality.  It may also be difficult for teenagers to seek information about sex from their parents.  Our staff is not only available to give accurate, detailed information, but we thrive on establishing trust.

Most importantly, we provide teens with take home manikins in order for them to experience what it is like to be a parent.  These manikins are life-like with real needs consisting of feeding, changing, burping, and providing attention, to name a few.  The manikins have a computer receptor inside of them which records how long they cry and which needs the teenager did not tend to.  We want teenagers to really experience "a glimpse" of what parenting requires in order to give them a well rounded approach to pregnancy prevention.
